ALLIGATOR PEPPER

Another name for alligator pepper is ataare. It is a spice made from the seeds and seed pods of native West African Aframomum danielli, A. citratum, or A. exscapum plants. Mbongo spice, hepper pepper, and Pimientos de Guinea are some other names for it. The ginger family includes the fiery alligator pepper, which is among the hottest peppers on the planet. Often used to season meat, seafood, vegetables, and soups, it has a strong, spicy flavor.
